No matter how the day is, Bozo brings joy and a big smile on me face. So here’s a big thumbs up, big applause, and three cheers once again for the marvellous master cartoonist FoXo’s magnificent masterpiece, the most pleasant picturesque pantomime, the ever entertaining ever energetic evergreen entertainer BOZO!
Spread the word, friends, and tell everyone, so that Bozo can spread more joy to more folks.
We all know that FoXo was a master at telling these wordless stories, but on very rare occasions I have trouble following the plot. Today is double trouble for me:
Strip 1 (It hurts), seems straightforward enough. A pretty young woman goes into a dentist’s office and closes the door. A ruckus is heard and she then rushes off unsmiling as the dentist nurses a black eye. Looks like he made unwelcome advances. But, if so, what is she holding and why? From the general shape and the $ it looks like she’s counting an oversized stack of paper money. Is she his wife or ex, who came to extract some money from him by force? Any ideas?
Strip 2 (Be a man), panel 4 has me totally confused. How did we get from Bozo approaching the Personnel Manager to apply for a job (janitor?), to Bozo asleep in the Manager’s chair with a bucket of liquid spilled on the floor? There are indications that the Manager may be mopping the floor, but the desk hides important details. Is the gag a simple role reversal, or am I missing something?
IT HURTS- Ah “Guaranteed Painless” Dental Work….Well One of them wound up in Guaranteed Pain! BE A MAN- To Be The MAN, You Gotta Beat The Man (Ric Flair…..WOOOO!) {I know Bozo was before Flair….but it sort of fits with BOZO….WOOOO!} JUST FADED AWAY- Buttons is thinking Bozo is like Gen. Doug Macarthur, Left the Philippines, but will return.
1) DENTIST VISIT: At the dentist a lovely lady sees the doctor, after much grawlex she exits. We see him beaten up!
2) BE A MANLY MAN: Bozo searches for a job, a “man” is needed. He goes in and by the end of the interview Bozo is the man and the older fellow is mopping the floor!
3) RUN AWAY TO NOTHING: Policeman is chasing Bozo heading for the water. Lower and lower he goes till nothing can be seen not even his hat!

2 HR asked him “Where do you see yourself in 5 years?” Bozo’s answer? “Celebrating my fifth anniversary in your old job.”
