    Those poor actuaries are always getting a bad rap. I had a really good friend who was an insurance actuary and he not only had an outrageous sense of humor but was a lot of fun to be around. He also loved making betting spreadsheets ( these were the days before computers ), especially for football and basketball.

    He eventually gave up his well-paying job with one of the big insurance companies in Hartford, Ct. to go to work at a ridiculously high salaried job for one of the leading sportsbooks in Las Vegas, NV.
