I don’t get it. Can someone please explain? Is it that the guests walking away are a different kind of insect? Or just that it was late and the bed bugs were tired and couldn’t get rid of the guests?

I believe a joke that takes this much explaining is a bit too much an inside one for a comic strip. I don’t get it either.
