This is my daughter to a “T”. At one point, bedtime routine was over an hour long (NOT including bathtime!) I think my favorite part was “the choosing of the stuffed animals” used to represent the characters in the stories we read. She would then act out the stories with her “cast” as we read.
my bedtime story to my grandsons around ages 4 – 6: “Once upon a time, yada, yada, yada, blah, blah, blah, they lived happily ever after, the end, go to bed, good night”…i’d have to tell it over and over
Give it up, Alice. We all know you’re just trying to drag out the process and stay up a little longer (most of us tried it, too, to some degree or other). So don’t try to give us the softsoap hardsell about your “creative impulses being smothered”; it’s got no credibility….

Some creative impulses need to be smothered.

Don’t worry so much about the impulses being smothered, but more about the impulse to smother…..

A budding performance artist, perhaps. Get used to the rejection, Alice.

So much to do—so many thoughts to pursue. She’ll be good at all those essay questions I struggled to write about in school.
