Scratch just wants to keep his lunch safe from the sharks.

Cats are annoying and wonderful in that way…even Scratch

No real change. He just doesn’t like soggy food.

it’s the competition. they fall through the ice and the sharks get them.

“I’m planning on having you for dinner tonight. I don’t want to lose you out here, and have to make other arrangements to eat.”

He doesn’t care for frozen dinners..

Critters can be strange

Many years ago we had a cat that would follow along when we took the dog for walks

The dog would block the cat at intersections until it was safe to cross

They only got along on walkies, otherwise they ignored each other

When we had a cottage, our cat made friends with a rabbit. Every Friday when we arrived, the rabbit was waiting by the stair of the front door. Most of the weekend they would chase each other around, like they were playing tag. (Literally the cat would catch and swat the rabbit, and run away and the rabbit would chase and swat the cat and run away. They’d take turns doing this.) This was a cat who caught birds, squirrels, mice and chased German Shepherd home.

there is no trill in taking popsicles out of the freezer

Be afraid!

he is making sure they are still alive when he wants a snack

i think we are all guilty of that.

He just prefers fresh over frozen.

Scratch isn’t trying to keep you guys safe, he’s trying to keep you from getting eaten by somebody not him. There’s a difference.

Scratch must have learned that adrenaline ruins the taste of the meat.
