When asked “If you had it to do over again, would you still have kids?” – Seventy percent say NO! It doesn’t mean they don’t love their kids, but they realize just how much of thier own dreams they had to give up along the way.
I have friends who married at 18 right after high school. When they were 40 both kids had left the house. They could then take off on the motorcycle most any weekend they wanted.
When I was in a military academy, reveille was at 6:00 a.m. You had to get up at 5:30 a.m. if you wanted any “me time”. I always just sat quietly with an instant espresso made from hot tap water in my room. Good times.
My mom was the only morning person in our family and she did this. Then she had to come upstairs and pull all of us out of bed. Many was the morning I was shoved out the door with my briefcase in one hand and an untoasted (my choice) Pop Tart in the other for my breakfast.

My mother tried that. But I was also an early riser as a kid. She got maybe ten minutes.

There may come a time, where me time gets old.

It’s even rougher when you have cartoon kids that never get old.
