My kitties definitely go for a taste of steak, ham, or chicken, not to mention most fish. They don’t like shellfish, too bad, they don’t know what they are missing.
SAAM Day of Action. Each year on the First Tuesday in April, Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) Day of Action provides a day to focus awareness on sexual violence prevention.
National Employee Benefits Day, I got a couple benefits this year. In January, I won our monthly VPI (Volume Producing Item) contest and got $50 added to my paycheck. I bombed out in the February contest and didn’t win anything. But in March, I got second place for another $25 prize (I chose Lysol disinfecting wipes). Only first and second place win money. The contest is to figure out which item will sell best compared to last year’s sales. April will be wide open. Because of hoarding of everything because of COVID, we were out of so many things anything could win. My choice for this month is Lysol disinfectant spray. That’s what won in March.
National Student Athlete Day.
National Caramel Popcorn Day. I made popcorn yesterday and forgot about putting melted caramel on it for caramel day, so here’s another chance to do that.
National Tartan Day
National Library Workers Day
National Teflon Day
National Sorry Charlie Day. I thought this was going to have something to do with tuna (as in the old Star-Kist tuna commercials, but it doesn’t. National Sorry Charlie Day encourages us to view rejection from a different perspective. It’s a day to think about the times we have been rejected. Whether we’ve been rejected by a sweetheart or a college, a prospective employer or the bank for a loan, we’ve all been refused. The day also gives us an opportunity to reflect on how we survived the rejection and what we learned from it.
Nice poem, Graham. I am really happy that Yum Yum is content with crunchy noms and gushy foodz. I can’t afford lobster thermidor for myself, never mind the cat!
I posted on FB yesterday a picture of my Oliver cuddling with pooch Birthday Boy (14) Maxie. TCers Sharon and Leslie saw it. I had a ‘wish I took a video’ moment when a mom, grand mom and little girl in stroller sang Happy Birthday to him. He was enchanted with the child.
Man, who’d have thought Chesney would have such exquisite tastes in cuisine? Great poem. I give my cats ham trimmings from time to time, which they like. Of course, they also like the cat food I give them. On another note, saw two juncos, five robins, a sparrow, and two rabbits while out walking today.

I’m glad my kitties are satisfied with kibble and their treats of canned cat food. They’ve never trued lobster and for that matter, neither have I!
