A message sound on the iPhone sets my doxie off barking. Usually coincides with visitors at the driveway gate but not always. If I change the notification sound she relearns it.

I remember the dogs might respond once if a dog barked on TV. By the second time they had it figured out and ignored it. For a few months at least, until they forgot. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice…uh…fool me twice…

Some day I will figure out where the doorbell chime is and replace it with something we can hear. For now, we just check when the dogs go nuts.
