That did not work with my mother!! Tried it once — got double the “punishment!!” Never tried that — again!!

No its because he is sad because he messed thing up with miles

If I cried at my parents, they’d give me double punishment. If I yelled at my parents, they’d give me triple punishment.

So many people are misinterpreting what’s going on here.

He isn’t crying because of being in trouble with him mom. He is crying because Miles is mad at him and he is afraid he lost his friend. His mother yelling was just the tipping point that made it so he couldn’t hold it in any longer.
