I have so very much enjoyed walking with my sons as they grow up. Every single stage of their lives has been a joy and a wonder. From kicking a soccer ball in the yard to building an ice rink out back, to talking about “this girl I know,” to helping them with homework to discussing religion (ie., answering their questions as best I could and listening to their thoughts), to their budding political explorations, to college visits, graduations, new jobs, and now girlfriends and fiancés. All of it has been a blessing to me, and I look forward to a future where even as my body ages and diminishes, they will still be beacons of joy and love — and, I hope, pass it on. And if I have to lean on them, I think they’ll be there.
Gracie is shown as having grown into the best kind of woman.. kind, loving, supportive, beautiful of heart….“beautiful of form and of feature”, as the Bible describes Queen Esther, inside and out.
