Hearing jokes are funny, but my hubs is very hard of hearing, even with his hearing aids. It’s not fun, or particularly funny, if you have hearing loss, or have to live with someone who does.
I wear 2 cochlear implants. !st one I got in 2000 and since the implant part was an older tech at the time it’s a power hog. Battery needs to be changed out about every 4 hours. (rechargeable). Newer one on the other ear though will last all day.
I am fortunate in that my hearing is still excellent. I have noticed, though, that since my hair has turned gray, some people automatically assume that I have a hearing deficit. I sometimes get conversations shouted at me, which is a little unnerving, when I can hear just fine. One advantage, though, to having this false assumption made, is that people nearby who are conversing often seem to assume that I can’t hear them, and I hear some interesting stories!

You’ll notice it’s usually men who refuse to wear their hearing aids.

Three old guys on a park bench.
1st guy: “Sure is windy today!”
2nd guy: “It’s not Wednesday, it’s Thursday!”
3rd guy: “Thirsty? I sure am, let’s go get a beer!”

Need to look into getting one. Why don’t they make them pretty like glasses or earrings. Even men wear earrings.
