I understand Patty’s frustration. I’m watching my freshly planted patio flowers like a hawk at the moment. They haven’t grown much in the last week. WHERE HAVE I GONE WRONG??
For the second year in a row – we have forgotten about mowing our backyard until it too late to deal with it. (No front lawn.) The weeds are are taller than my knees. The weed trees are about my height. And the poison ivy is very happy and heading to the front of the house.
Since last year’s mess had died as I said it would over the winter, I guess we will let it let it grow wild again and I will make a reminder for next April to start mowing it, getting rid of the weed trees, and spray the poison ivy before it starts to spread.

Those who can, grow things. Those who can’t hire a gardener.
