Ha! Reminds me of my mom. As she started pulling out of the parking space to start her test, she managed to hit a cop car. Tester told her, “Well, you failed. But if you’d like to keep doing the test so you know what to expect next time you take it, you can keep driving.”
I was at the DMV a few days ago and watched a young lady take her test for her license, poor thing was so nervous you could see it on her face. She passed and I never saw such a happy little girl. She and her mother both walked out beaming. I thought to myself Mom if you only know what lays ahead for you. A very big moment for any teenager.
No airbags? Must be an old car… reminds me of a friend who tried to take his driver’s test in his father’s restored Ford Model T – the tester refused and told him to come back in a modern car…
Been there, had that happen more than once. I use to be an examiner…..I could write a book. One time I was kidnapped in 1983 when we officers did the testing here in Texas. Driver rigged his doors to not unlock unless he pushed the button. He failed then refused to unlock the door unless I passed him. He forgot I was armed. I reminded him of that securing my release. Had one on a rainy day start off failing to see the truck in front of him with a four foot rear over hanging steel beam. Right throw the passenger window taking out the head rest. I did not know I could fit on the passenger side floorboard….and Yes he asked if it was okay to try again.

No, but your passenger/grader passed that light post

Considering that the instructor obviously wasn’t wearing a seat belt, it’s no wonder you didn’t learn anything from him.

“No, but I passed away.”

Sure, you passed. Six STOP signs, two red lights, and an ambulance with its lights flashing.

Of course he passed. Do you think the inspector wants to ride with him again?

Of course you passed. And you get a gold star. We wouldn’t want your self-esteem to be threatened by implying you are capable of doing anything wrong.

Well, you get good marks for being able to stop suddenly…

The instructor said to come to a complete stop. He didn’t say how.

Yes, you wore your seat belt and the instructor didn’t.
