Too bad this isn’t German since for heavy drinkers we have fitting onithological based nicknames “Schluckspecht” (boozing woodpecker) and “Schnapsdrossel” (schnapps thrush). So it’d be not a cuckoo clock but a Schnapsdrosseluhr.
