My husband is needlephobic. BUT – since there were warnings to get a flu shot, which we never do, this past flu season as there was great concern about people catching both the flu and Covid at the same time, he was willing to go.
We were going to go to a chain pharmacy, but then he remembered when last he had a injection it was for college and he says he passed out. He decided if he passed out when they gave him a shot in the pharmacy – and in our pharmacy this is behind a room divider on the main floor of the store, not a in a private room – if he fainted they would call an ambulance. So we went to our doctor.
We explained his fear and his passing out last time he had injection to the PA who was giving it to him. She let him sit on the exam table instead of in a chair. He was looking at me so as not to see what was going on. She started giving him the injection – he asked her if she would starting soon – she said “You’re done!” and he was amazed. As a result he was much less fearful to go for the Covid shots.

Silly Bear. You are supposed to yell at the time the needle goes in not afterwards.

Just a little bit of a delayed reaction.

Bear needs a steady supply of a light tranquillizer to lower his reactions.
