Some how that just never seems to work. I remember all the hoopla in NY as to how there would be all this free money for education and no need to constantly raise school taxes. Now the income from the lottery goes up each year and so do school taxes. Our local school board would pat themselves on the back publicly (in the paper) for keeping the annual increase to only 7%.

In my state, the proceeds go to property owners. Basically a voluntary regressive tax on the poor to benefit the rich. I suppose you could say it supports education in a round about way considering that’s where most of the property taxes go.

What it supports isn’t the real reason. It is the fun of imagining what we’d spend it on if we win. The reason for it is just an added excuse.

In the same way poking a badger with a short stick is educational.

There is a math lesson to be learned with lottery, philosophy too

Not all education comes from school

Something tells me he’s more interested in being rich than getting an education.

DON’T READ IT’S A RANT – you have been warned snowflake – Minnesota for sure – talk about a political scam and then some – education????? Hey Peter I know how we can get this thru just tell the idiots (voters) that it will go for education! Your right Jennie, and they won’t even know or question that less than 1% of this will go for education and won’t remember the tax we leveled on them a month ago for education! You talk about an easy state to manipulate, tell ‘em it’s for ed, or the misfortunate, or some other buzz word and they’ll majority vote for it every time because they think it’s the right of the state to take your money however they want to!! Right on Joe and then we can vote ourselves a 30% salary increase and tell them it’s in the budget and they’ll shrug and keep on being stupids!!!! Glad us Republicans and Democrats can agree on something Jennie! and so it continues the fleecing of the sheeple so that the elected can be crooked. In our state and now across the nation since mighty joe took office as the not smart one in charge of fleecing America one class at a time and then shouting ‘conspiracy’ as loud as the make money media can over and over again – and don’t bother responding to my comment as I’m too far down the rabbit hole and discovering that the white rabbit was really the ‘queen of hearts’ in disguise. and that nobody that’s already on the wagon of insanity/no logic is even going to get this comment.
