    Alright; I admit it, Ripplers – I’m out of fresh jokes, and I’ve had to go to…yes, Tom Swifties:

    “Take the prisoner downstairs,” said Tom, condescendingly.

    “Pheasant for supper again?” Tom groused.

    “They cut out my left ventricle!” said Tom, half-heartedly.

    …anyone else for the game?

    One time I bought a porcelain bowl for $34 and sold it for $721,801.

    One time I created a pasta recipe that led to a 201% surge in feta cheese demand at grocery stores.

    May the Lord be with you.

    Happy 4th to all. And be thankful we reached that milestone early in our history. Many countries have never approached the same freedoms that we have enjoyed for these 242 years.

    Thank You to President Washington and all of the men and women that fought for our independence. May we never let you down.

    I’ve always heard that Washington’s dentures were wooden. The illustration looks more like a natural tooth that was removed prior to wearing the “Teak Teeth” or the “Cherry Tree Choppers”! ;o}

    You know, every so often I hear of these stories about somebody finding a rare piece of art work or antique, and then turning around and selling it for thousands of dollars. Meh – I just don’t believe it.

    Does the 4th of July fall on a Sunday every year? Does England have the 4th of July?

    A solution to the bollworm? Import a ton of birds. Then a ton of cats to eat the birds. Then, oh, weasels to eat the cats, then… (Didn’t Australia try that with bringing in a bunch of rabbits to eat something or other, but then have rabbits become the scourge?)

    Why do Americans always say the month first followed by the date, except for 4th of July? (Dec 25th, May 4th, 9/11, April 1st, etc.)

    I remember last year around this time (the first lockdown) there was a craze over home baked banana bread. As a result all the grocery stores were sold out of flour and yeast.

    Another Tiktok video led to a very different shortage: a sour candy called “slime lickers.” I work at a candy/country store, and I couldn’t tell you how many times I’ve been asked if we had it, both in person and over the phone.
