Wait till Mom and Dad start charging you for room and board, laundry and cleaning services, Wilberforce. THEN, you will realize how good you had it before you became a wage earner. Have a good day!
I’m kind of on Wilberforce’s side on this one. Since most of the chores I can think of are weekly chores at best, (wash the car, take the trash out to the curb, mow the lawn,) 1 list for the whole week would work. Of course this time of year mowing the lawn could be done on a daily basis.
He just better hope he never gets a list from mom, given how much hard work goes into making a house a home.
Somewhere there is a sweet spot age,in between where kids WANT to help Mom or Dad do everything, but are to young to do it….*….and when they are old enough to do all that stuff, but don’t want to. Blink and you miss it.

My kids wanted me to pay them to be good. When I was a child, I was good for nothing.

Whoa! Do you mean I’m going to have to work every day? I can see this growing up thing is going to suck big time.

Now is the time for Wilberforce to learn another important lesson, how to negotiate.

Growing up I got an allowance plus $1.00 for the best card. Out of 5 of us kids ( at the time) I always got the dollar.
