Back in the day when I cooked for the family I loved to make homemade. Took 24 hours as I would cook the chicken and veggies in a crockpot the first day, then the second I de-boned the chicken and put fresh veggie in and cooked it longer. More work yes, but no comparison in taste.
A former co-worker used to bring in “homemade” stuff that his wife would make, and gush over how good of a cook she was. We were all appreciative, but kind of disappointed that everything was either bland, or too salty. It turned out she was using boxed mixes, which is why everything was kinda “meh”. Another co-worker and I would joke to each other that it wasn’t “homemade”; it was “made at home”! (We weren’t trying to be ungracious, but we just felt so set up for disappointment. Especially since some of us in the office knew what {and brought in} homemade really was!)

If it is homemade and then frozen it is really good. If from the grocery and frozen, forget it.
