So, now we know who requisitioned the cicadas.

Growing up in Oklahoma, I really enjoyed the summer fireflies. Here in my part of New Mexico, the altitude and lack of moisture mean we can’t have them. I also miss the cicadas; crickets just aren’t the same.

The lightning bugs are far and few between these days. Not sure if it is the competition from the street lights, spot light, and mega security lights, or not.

I go to a friends for July 4th party and he has fireworks. Before the show, we watch the lightning bugs as he lives by a big woods.

Now if only we could get those cicadas back into hiding for the next seventeen years.

I wish someone would turn down the frogs, dogs and donkeys here!

I’ve been told there are fireflies in Oregon, but in 18 years I haven’t seen one.

If he can set them to different colors, I’m moving back to the city. :)

You didn’t have to set on nuclear fission.

In the midwest “fireflies” are known as “lightning bugs”
