ERB’s airship O-220 was made of the fantasy metal alloy Harbenite. Instead of hydrogen to helium to make it lighter than air, Harbenite was so strong the air was simply evacuated from inside of the Harbenite hull to make it lighter than air. Meaning, Harbenite had to be many times stronger then diamonds or titanium. So the hull is probably ok from the pteranodons. The gondola ia another matter.
