English is not my first language: Woldn’t it be “… had to bag our groceries on our own”? Or “…bag our groceries ourselves”?

Heinens is the only grocery here, that won’t let customers take the carts outside. They load your car which is a great service….I always tip!

At my favorite supermarket here in Ecuador, not only do the bagboys bag your groceries at the checkout and put the bags into your cart, but they take them outside and load them into your car or a taxi. ( Taxis are parked right out in front of the store. )

The real surprise is that taxi drivers will actually unload the groceries help you take them into your home without expecting a tip. ( I tip them anyway! ) The cost of a taxi from the supermarket to my house, including the tip, is $2.50!

Because of Covid 19, I’ve been picking up my groceries from the store without leaving my car. I check in via phone app, open the trunk, and the grocery person loads them. Absolutely no contact, then he/she says bye bye, I thank them, then I drive off. I’ve never brought home a grocery clerk with me yet, though. LOL
