Mostly Bugs called Elmer Fudd “Nimrod” – when Elmer was hunting him. Bugs knew just what he was saying – it’s like calling a dumb person “Einstein”…

Bugs Bunny is solely responsible for having us all THINK Nimrod is an insult. He SARCASTICALLY called Elmer Fudd, who was an inept hunter, Nimrod. But all of us who didn’t get the reference now think Nimrod is an insult. It simply makes no sense out of context as an insult.
