The cats and I did NOT enjoy the “much boom-booms” last night. The firecrackers exploding in our neighborhood were jarring enough to set off car alarms!

Where are Pippa and Fargo? They should all huddle together for group protection.

Our 16 year old cat is annoyed most of the time so it was hard to tell if last night’s unsolicited fireworks show bothered him. It bothered at least 2 humans for sure.

Because of extreme dry weather here in Central Oregon they banned personal fireworks. And surprisingly people obeyed the rules because there was very little fireworks other than the professional ones at the expo

The “personal fireworks” Friday lasted until 0230, 0330 on Saturday and 0100 on Sunday. Hopefully we’ll get a break tonight. The ones at the Mall (DC) were gorgeous, and the south portico of the White House was illuminated red, white, and blue. Some of the fireworks looked like face masks, and there were a few that looked like coronavirus blobs (or what ever they’re called. Show was only 19 minutes long.

That’s a lot of boom booms. Perhaps too much.

Its 2130 here and the “personal fireworks” have been going off since 1830. And solidly for the last half hour. Another sleepless night ahead.

Dry conditions here prevented nearly all the use of personal fireworks as well. Although we generally can’t hear them through the walls, they weren’t missed anyway. We’re not fans of loud pyrotechnic displays.
