    Lucky Strike…. Means Fine Tobacco!

    (Obviously, Slim is Don Wilson.)

    And if we can get Frank Nelson in the GA universe, how about a visit from Phil Harris?

    @Gweedo it’s legal here Murray

    But those Sundays, I’ve spent up to an hour just on making clearer the words of one page, and I hate to do too much with the art – mostly I’m just removing scan spots and sometimes cleaning up bleed-through from the other side of the pages.

    I had no idea you do so much to make these more pleasant to look at. :-) Like !

    I don’t know how he does it but “Slim” manages to put both feet in his mouth.

    I had to look it up. LSMFT also once meant, “Lord, save me from Truman!” back in the 1940s.

    Somebody shoulda told Scancarelli that during the 1960s, in many police departments, including the Los Angeles PD, LSMFT meant "Let’s Shoot a M**** F**** Tonight. This is very well known among a lot of cops and retired LEO. I should know.

    The liquor store where I worked still stocked Luckies until about 5 years ago, for 1 customer who drove a Willys.

    On one old Jack Benny radio show, Don Wilson accidentally said “Be lucky, go happy” instead of “Be happy, go Lucky” and they made comedy out of it for weeks. Don was so traumatized that he stayed home hiding in the closet and his wife had to come make the announcements.

    I remember hearing about an anti-smoking group that was formed in the 1960s. They were going to call themselves the “League to Save Mankind from Tobacco.” Then they noticed the initials.
