Unless we fully address the insurrection of 2021 and all get on board together as Americans that although our government is far from perfect, it’s the government that we all want to sustain, we’re just setting ourselves up for another insurrection in 2024
Look at a map of the electoral vote for the 2020 election. Look at a map of states’ vaccination rates and there’s a pattern of similarity between the 2.
You’ve based your political cartoon on a false premise, i.e., that “Trump Fanatics” have “minds.” They have what “passes” for “minds,” just as dodos had what passed for functional wings as do numerous contemporary flightless birds (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flightless_bird), such as ostriches, emus, cassowaries, moas, elephant birds, kiwis, and rheas, have what seem to be functional wings. When those who have only what “passes” for minds don’t have intelligence, education, experience, and reason, then they don’t REALLY have minds in the conventional and accepted emotional, psychological, & spiritual sense. They’re all eligible for and would benefit from collective conservatorship.
I did NOT vote for Trump in 2016; I found him too abrasive and tactless to be a suitable POTUS. I DID vote for Trump in 2020; despite his continued abrasive and tactless behavior in office, I approved of his job performance. I think Democrats are appalled at how many people voted for Trump; they are irate that Trump voters after the election were not contrite and did not line up for re-education camps; they are stunned at how poorly Democrats did down ballot and how shallow their legislative majorities are; and they are very, very frightened of losses in 2022, hence their near frantic desire to get things passed in their short available window.
Don’t you first need a mind before one worries about what’s on it? Evidence would indicate that the “minds” of The Repulsican Crime Family most closely resembles an empty dusty cavern.
To the extent that every political party has a fringe elements, this ‘toon is true. The Republicans are saddled with Q-Anon while the Democrats have BLM. If Tim is trying to say this applies to all or even most of Trump supporters, then he’s way off the mark. Regarding his nod to Jan. 6th, I watched it live and was mildly horrified and no little outraged over those events as was everyone in my conservative circles.

The GOP has already been thru the brain wash cycle. Rinse is yet to happen. Then rinse again, until it runs clear.

You have to have a BRAIN to start with!

I could while away the hours
Conferring with the flowers
Consulting with the rain
And my head I’ll be scratching
While my thoughts were busy hatching
If I only had a brain
I’d unravel every riddle
For any indivdual
In trouble or in pain
{Dorothy}
(With the thoughts you’ll be thinkin’
You could be another Lincoln
If you only had a brain)
Oh, I could tell you why
The ocean’s near the shore
I could think of things I’ve never thunk before
And then I’ll sit and think some more
I would not be just a nothing
My head all full of stuffin ’My heart all full of pain
I would dance and be merry
Life would be a ding-a-derry
If I only had a brain.
Gosh, it would be awful pleasin’
To reason out the reason
For things I can’t explain
Then perhaps I’ll deserve
And be even worthy of you
If I only had a brain
