And the school building comes alive! 8/31/1974 (She had yelled at it and kicked it in 1971 but it didn’t respond then.)

Like talking to a brick wall. Only in this case the brick wall hears her.

Sure you are, Lazy Sally. Sure you are.

It’s usually the school itself that wears the students down, not the opposite.

At least the bricks aren’t racist like so many other things seem to be called that.

“I’ve been suffering in silence for sixty years, kid.”

We’ve all had to deal with those types of students.

“I have knees?”

The beginning of a beautiful friendship.

Ya know that phrase, “If only these walls could talk”? Be careful what you wish for.

Art Linkletter once had a tv show, years ago, titled “Kids Say The Darndest Things”. I know, it was during more innocent times in the entertainment industry. There are clips on You Tube. Sally’s conversation with the school building brought that to mind. Sigh….

I like her attitude.

It never happens Sally Ive been by my old grade school it’s now low income housing and it still smirks at me when I walk past

Last week before school starts, I would declare “No shoes. No shirt. No indoor activity. Do nothing that remotely looks like school!” And the weather would be cold all week. Then, when school actually started, and I had to be in shoes, shirt, doors all day, we’d swelter in record setting heat. No, schools were not air conditioned in those days. We opened the windows.

Was that a sigh of resignation or condescension?

I’ll bet the school hears a lot of verbal abuse thrown at it at this time of year.

This is why some schools medicate their students.

The school’s thinking, “Bring it, kid. You got nothin’!”

So this is the first sentient school arc? They were always cute.

Sally, it’s not all that easy to be intimidating, when you aren’t carrying a Beagle.

I thought they were friends. Or maybe that happens later?

The School’s sighing because it knows Sally only too well. She’s brought it to it’s knees, metaphorically speaking, every previous year over how poor a student she tends to be. But at least she’s not Peppermint Patty, Peppermint Patty makes Sally look like a straight A student.

Strange strip today. Looks like Sally is losing her mind.
