Most phones and Windows computers come with way too many preloaded programs from the manufacturer; they can be uninstalled. Unfortunately, my Samsung phone won’t allow me to delete useless Samsung programs I’ll never use but I’ve cleaned off the rest.
So true. I have several old hard drives for my Mac Mini that I keep only because some favorite programs only run on the non-updated hard drives. Updating anything always makes me nervous and frustrated.

Bad update news is when you have to replace your motherboard because the BIOS won’t support the new Linux kernel.
