Hated the game. Always lost.

Fun fact: Monopoly started as a rip-off imitation of an earlier game, “The Landlord’s Game”, designed by Elizabeth Magie in 1902/3.

As illustrated by Our Hero, that game was meant to demonstrate how rents make landlords rich and tennants poor. It was meant primarily as a (deliberately unfair) teaching tool.

All the things that make Monopoly a pretty lousy game by today’s standards basically spring from that.

Where did all of the hotels suddenly come from?

Monopoly doesn’t even com with that many hotels.

Stop snivelling kid, you’re just lucky you didn’t land on Boardwalk with that many hotels!

Even in a market “correction” period, real estate is generally a good investment. They ain’t makin’ any more of it; Dubai excepted. (They dredged up millions of tons of sand to make islands to sell)
