I encounter this problem in the postings here all the time – and, when I request clarification of what part or possession of the banana to which they were referring, they never have an answer and, in fact, almost seem scandalized that I would ask!
This is why I stopped hanging out in bars. A sale on bananas is not news. If somebody maces a Karen at the Y’allMart, then I wanna see it. I wanna see them bang her head a little as they’re putting her in the cop car. Just a little.
This whole cartoon series merely points out the paucity of English in conveying clarity of thought – or, rather, the problem of interpreting the spoken word over the written word – demonstrating once again how much further along we are to understanding the spoken word over the written word.
