I’m having TV trouble.. Last night ithe one in the bedroom just winked out. Tonight the one in the family room did the same thing. Nothing I did would make either come back on. So. I messagesd the tech line, half an hour laterw ith no “let me transfer you to somebody who knows more” another Tech comes on line. Asks me a bunch of technical stuff. I tell her I’m a Senior ( always a good excuse) and I don’t know a modem from a hole in the ground. (True)
Anyway after a lot of messages she says that a service tech will be out tomorrow at 7PM. 5 minutes later the TV comes on.
But the one in the bedroom is dealer than a doornail, so he can fix that one. Unless it comes back on in the middle of the night. Sigh…
Well, I have had some bad days lately. I think I mentioned that my last donkey was having problems. It started with her getting scared and running away from perceived threat which I could not see. Then she would not eat for a day or two, then start to eat again. Then her eye began to water, and it seemed to be drawing gnats, so I began to put Swat on her ears (anti-fly gel). This seemed to fix the problem for a few days. Then she took to her stall in the barn and wouldn’t come out. I drove down to feed her, but she had quit eating and her eye had swollen shut. I called our local equine vet and begged her to come. She didn’t. The next day, I called her again, and she did not come. Now it was the weekend. On Monday I took pictures of her face, that not only had a swollen shut eye, but sores on her face where she was rubbing against feed trough and/or posts. I went to a vet that raised horses, and showed her the pictures. She gave me 7 days worth of antibiotics and three pain shots. My neighbor, Rex, did the shots and antibiotics, I put antibiotic cream on her sores. This past Monday was the last day of treatment, and her sores were worse. However she was still running around from barn to backyard. I called our local horse rescue person Tuesday, and she came yesterday to take her to her farm to watch her closely. When she got here and saw Tinkerbelle, she called an equine vet in a neighboring county and said that she was bringing in an emergency. Tinker died on the way there. The vet examined her and said it was a brain tumor, not an eye infection. Nothing could have saved her. She was rubbing her head on hard surfaces to try to relieve the pressure from inside. Lori brought her home, her husband came with his tractor (they live about a quarter mile from me) and buried her next to her best friend, Bumble Bee, who died in Oct. 2019 after being mauled by Rottweilers. Tinker survived the mauling, but I wonder if it had led to that tumor. Anyway, broken heart.
At least the squirrels are on friendly terms with Oliver. Hope he lands safely. (Anything is possible in a cartoon.) On another note, saw two juncos while out walking today.
