I’m going back to 1972 when I first became a fan of the strip.

Slim&Clovia brought toddler Hoogie along on a camping trip,and she made instant friends with a bear cub.So rapport with animals ran in the family even then.

Slim was trying to keep track of the 1972 Olympics on an antiquated television set thatran on Double A batteries(about 2 dozen per program).

One of his 2 surrogate parents from when the bears took him for 2 years then brought him back whole and changed.
