Ah, William Daniels… Every time I happened upon that show it always made me think “I had no idea John Adams was also a high school teacher!”

I had heard of it — as I grew in the 1990s — but never really watched it; probably figured it as boring.

In a way, today’s strip breaks the fourth wall — this series first appeared in 2008, so naturally Elliot doesn’t know about the 1990s.

Well, I guess the 70s Show is out of the question.

I saw a post where someone said “In the late 1900s”. Just weird to think about. Seems like centuries ago.
