Did you clean the gutters? Are the car windows shut? Was that lightning? Should I check the basement walls for moisture? Did the lights just flicker? Do you smell smoke. Is the garage door open? Did you take in the clothes from the line? What’s for supper? What’s that smell, time for a dipper change. I forgot to feed the chickens and collect the eggs. Nice try though.
I like to sit and play along with the bluegrass songs on the music stream. They’re mostly in the key of G and you don’t have to know the song to anticipate the chords…
Well. around we hear we are starting to panic whenever we hear “rain”. We don’t hear drops we hear truckloads of rain falling. Two flooding rains in less than 2 weeks and the latest – remnants of Hurricane Ida (who followed Hurricane Henri passing through the neighborhood) is much too much – and we were lucky enough that we only a wet carpet in the basement each time – our basement was not destroyed, no vehicles were so flooded that they are no longer good, neither of us was stuck anywhere else (such as in a subway station with a waterfall of water filling it up, trees stayed standing, vehicles not damaged, electricity not lost…. Though in 40+ years living here this has been the first – and second – time we have ANY water in our basement. Fiber optic line phone stopped working about 3 days after – not sure if related or not and waiting for phone co to come tomorrow, I am sure to tell us nothing related to them. Found out that phones were out only because I forgot to call my 93yo mom for our Sunday night call and she tried to call me – heard sort of, but not a ring on the phone and when picked up dead. (We get – almost all spam – and make so few calls that we did not notice.)

This could be a Sound of Music time. The songs “My Favorite Things” and “Do-Re-Mi” come to mind on a rainy lazy type of day.

What’s a raindrop? I don’t remember anymore. (Hugs for those hit by the Caldor, Dixie, and Bootleg fires.)
