Happens, when you think that a 32 inch Cabinet has 32 inch shelves, ignoring the 1 inch thickness of the side boards.
Why not move the chair two inches?

Bub’s carpentry skills are like my former husband’s. I can’t read this arc without shuddering and recalling all of his ‘projects’. He never got any better at making things even though he tried again and again. LOL

I guess moving the chair , lamp or bookshelf is out. Betty must really want it in that exact place.
a rebuilt item is never as good as one that was made right the first time
I like this comic but Betty herself can be overbearing at times
It’s beginning to look like moving the door opening two inches to the right will actually be the simplest way.
