We had a company sponsored fitness tracker program that awarded points per day when you reached the step goal. When the point goal was reached, a cash reward was given. A lady I worked with put the step counter on her shoe and sat at her desk tapping her foot all day.
I used to take 250 steps per hour by walking down the hallway at work or at my condo. When the pandemic started, I felt frustrated… didn’t want to get or give unnecessary exposure, so I would sit and bounce my wrist 250 or so times. I finally disabled this feature (counting 250 steps per hour), and I don’t feel the need to cheat.
My employer had a weight-loss program to help him with his, and I won a digital travel alarm, back when that was a new thing, by eating six bananas before weigh-in and fasting the day before final weight check. Average was still average. Still am. The alarm had “I won because I lost” on it.
