Before the pandemic I went to a Denny’s and people had long waits there- some people left before they got their food. Was told delivery orders were prepared first.
Check some of wife’s old cookbooks; “Render 1/2 pound of bacon, mix drippings with sugar, flour…..”. Cookies and pie crusts seem to all start that way.
That was new fangled stuff. I had a Betty Crocker kid’s bake set. Needed Mom’s assistance, because you used the regular oven. Had little cake, tiny cup cake pans, and small utensils and packaged mixes.
Now you know what to get her for Christmas, an Easy Bake Oven. Actually, couple that with a cook book of muy macho man food recipes. Then she will have no excuses for not cooking what you might like or what she is good at all……

And good luck buying an incandescent bulb for it! I don’t know why, but they just don’t seem to work with energy efficient LED bulbs!

That’s why the good Lord invented “Grub Hub”.

Let me guess, Gladys is so incompetent in the kitchen she can’t even prepare a bowl of breakfast cereal.;-/

That sure is an old recipe box, but I’ll bet her cooking hasn’t improved much in all those years.

Gladys’ easy-bake oven. The only appliance that brought her success in preparing a gourmet meal.

Cold sandwiches. They’re not foolproof (I see who’s in the kitchen here) but they’re “safe”. I think.

Plus we tend not to have the industrial sized quantities of white flour, sugar, butter and lard to replicate vintage recipes. Nor the time.

Might be an improvement.

My guess is they’re more palatable than the stuff Flo Capp comes up with
