The three swords are clumsy to wear and the staff would just get in the way during actual combat, but it is a good visual

Today’s cartoon goes out to my kids, who insisted on carrying swords, rifles, blasters, shields, and other assorted junk that “we have to have for the costume!” After the first couple of years of carrying armloads of said junk by the time we were on the other side of the block, I instituted a rule that their costumes weren’t tricking anyone and if you carry it, YOU carry it. Daddy don’t carry. Life was better after that.

God bless little Eddie’s naive heart.

I like the fact that you can see — or rather, distinguish — Eddie’s mouth in panel two.

Whenever someone makes a political comment on a non-political cartoon and you make a comment telling them that it is inappropriate, you boost them into the features comment section. This is exactly what they want. They are trolls and this is the only way they can get attention. Just ignore them and they will eventually go away.

Edmond Blackadder once foiled an assassination attempt on Queen Elizabeth I at a masquerade by letting slip that her nurse would be dressed as a cow. The assassin was easily spotted because as a self-proclaimed master of disguise, his costume was much better than Nursey would make.

I wish I’d been this good a psychologist when my kids were growing up.
