The local park where I run has wild turkeys. They aren’t aggressive and they aren’t fat, but they’re big and lean. I wouldn’t want to be on their bad side if they decided to get nasty. The flock is at least 30 although I usually see no more than a dozen at a time.

Awww! I remember when visiting grandma and grandpa, they had chickens and a goat. Chickens to lay eggs and chickens to eat and the goat provided the milk….during the depression….

I watched them cut the heads off….Ew. Ew. Ew. ….

My uncles hunted…deer, rabbit, squirrel and I watched them skim them Ew. Ew. Ew.

….grandma roasted the meat and when we ate, we had to spit out the BB’s…Ew. Ew. Ew.

My grandpa and his buddies would all gather for a lamb feast…They ate every part, the brains, eyeballs, whatever….Ew Ew. Ew.

My cousin owns a small farm in Virginia. Among other livestock, he raised turkeys. The turkeys were so selectively bred that their breasts were too big to step over a 6 inch threshold into their coop. They were also too heavy to jump it either. So he had to build a “handicap ramp” into and out of the coop for them.

The chickens, on the other hand, will roost wherever they please. Do not leave your car window open.

People who live in the city don’t, for the most part, even know or think about where that meat comes from. People eat meat. Get over it.

That lap band.. that looks like the leg bands they put on birds.

The Washington Biological Survey team used them, but they had to change their bands. They got a letter from a man in Arkansas who said he shot one of their birds, and followed the directions on the band that read Wash. Biol. Surv. , but said it tasted terrible.
