Hobbes on the witness stand,”Yes your Honor….I am innocent, Mr. Calvin planned the daring escape and the damage to the house well, it is all his fault”.
A sign of responsibility lies in Calvin, though. He checked who was at the door before opening it, but I don’t think he actually opened the door at all.
What the heck did Calvin become so frighten immediately after he looked out the window who was at the door? Why didn’t his parents hire someone else to babysit Calvin instead of hire Roselyn the same dork girl to baby sit Calvin again?
I like Calvin’s expression in panel 3. It would be funny if the transmorgafier could work on Rosalyn too, Calvin would probably make her a turtle and escape….

Rosalyn (greeting the returning parents): “Don’t apologize for being late. If I had your son, I wouldn’t be in any hurry to get back home either.”

But Calvin, she’s such a sweet girl and besides, Hobbes has a soft spot for her.

After the initial terror, Calvin, it’s time to plan your strategy.
So it begins.

He’s not afraid of his parents, teacher, or Susy like he is of Rosalyn. She’s not afraid of him!!
prasrinivara over 15 years ago
Simple reason Ag-Pearl. Unlike his parents/Ms. Wormwood/Susy, Rosalyn actually understands Calvin’s imagination–and knows how to deal with it!

To babysit Calvin, you would have to be strange and have an imagination. Look out Calvin!

Shouldn’t Hobbes give Rosalyn the kind of welcome he gives to Calvin when he returns from school ?

I have 3 sons, and when they were Calvins’ age, or nearly, I had a sitter who charged me more per hour because they were… Boys.

greeneyedtxn over 15 years ago
No, Hobbes likes Rosalyn a little and doesn’t like to be rough like he does to Calvin.
