You’ve got a job for life in this comic strip kid. You haven’t aged in 37 years. (It was either point out the obvious or refer him to Denis Leary’s song Life’s Gonna Suck.

Only if you’re lucky… Better to race real rats than human rats.

Okay, not to be pedantic here, has anyone ever seen a real rat race? How do you handy cap a rat? Is there a rat derby? Do rat breeders produce thoroughbreds? Rat breeders?

Yeah, I remember being a kid dreaming of a future with flying cars and jetpacks, even though George Jetson made it quite clear it would be just another way to race the other rats.

We have enough idiots on the road as drivers right now. Last thing we need are flying idiots who would fall from the sky……

    Here’s to the crabgrass,

    Here’s to the mortgage,

    In fact here’s to suburbia.

    Lay down your briefcase,

    Far from the rat race,

Where nothing can disturb ya . . .

Allan Sherman, Here’s to the Crabgrass

The problem with being in a rat race is that you have to be one of the rats. Find a life where you don’t have to join.

Only Super Duper Extra Premium members got the last panel, but I’m letting you others in on the punchline:

Clayton: “I’m gonna have to race rats??”

Adam: “Yeah, but with the flying cars and jetpacks, you should be ok.”

    You’re welcome.

“I’m gonna have to race rats??”

Especially if you join a race for a political office.

Don’t project your past onto your future. The past is a life lesson, not a life sentence.

Jetpacks and flying cars have been about 10 years away for the past 70 years.
