Just because bad things happen in threes, doesn’t mean that everything that happens in threes is bad.

That’s because 3 is the first odd number behind number 1. But of course it would be rather silly for people to say ‘bad things always happen in ones.’

Both my father and my grandfather and my great-grandfather were morticians and they all said that deaths do come in groups of three!

Not for Pastis – he sometimes uses 8 panels to set up a goofy pun.
