Today is:

Global Cat Day. For the record, Global Cat Day (2017) takes the place of National Feral Cat Day, which was initiated by Alley Cat Allies in 2001.

National Learn A Word Day. I have a hard enough time remembering people’s names. Trying to remember a new word seems futile.

National Sweetest Day. I don’t care what the creators of this day have to say about it – I think the candy makers, jewelers and florists got together to create another day where men are expected to buy candy, jewelry and flowers for their sweeties.

Woof. Cat you better start running!

Quiet little Woof, you left me chuckling this morning.

Thank you everyone for all your kind words yesterday! I still have no pain, never even took a Tylenol. Lots of fall color still hanging on and my neighbor’s husband was great supportive company so overall it was an unexpectedly good trip. Reading is still blurry, and I can’t work in the garden for fear of infection so I’m not sure how to pass the time this weekend. I go back next week for a follow up and the dogs and I will stay overnight up on the Carson Pass only a half hour away.

Re: potential kitty adoption update (for my daughter) … kitten looks just like this: ( https://i.imgur.com/j4vpuPs.mp4 ). My daughter and her husband are both now 100% committed (he was the holdout). The kitten was rescued in FLORIDA by my friend’s mom. My friend will visit her mom next week and upon return, bring kitten up north (we both live in Queens, NY) IRONIC FACT: back in 2008 my friend co-rescued with me, my daughter’s recently deceased cat, ‘cousin’ Emma. In fact the cat was named Emma in her honor.

I’m a word nerd. I LOVE dictionaries and new words. These days, my main new word focus is contemporary slang/ older kid speak. I can “nope” as a verb with ease when needed.

A good effort, although I question the accuracy of Woof’s translations. On another note, saw a golden crowned kinglet, two ravens, two woolly bear caterpillars, a newt, and two juncos while out walking today.
