The cartoonist Sandra Boynton put out a book about chocolate years ago. It includes a recipe for chocolate chip cookies, which is illustrated by a hippo making cookies. After the batter is mixed, the instruction says “At this point, it is traditional to sample the batter.” The hippo is shown pouring contents of the bowl directly into his/her mouth, leaving enough batter for just one normal-sized cookie. The last instruction is to bake the cookie. :-D
I tried to make Christmas cookies last week. my 3 inch cookies came out the size of frisbees. So, my 19 year old son and his girlfriend made cookies yesterday. They came out perfect. Go figure.
