Kids have it easy these days. I was the family detangler and had to do it without spray. I also had to find which bulb of the string was burnt out without the benefit of stay lit wiring. And hopefully it was only one bulb. ;-)
“Detangler spray”, you wish. It’s amazing, with so many “present boxes” lying around after Christmas, that people cannot save a few pieces of cardboard to wrap the Christmas lights around for tangle-free storage. It’s not rocket science. It’s not even tabloid science. :)
Spent Thanksgiving with my son and family. The tree was purchased and waiting outside to be brought in. Friday it came in for the big lights and decorating event. There’s one more tree to come for the outside deck which is probably there by now. It’s beginning to be a tradition for us which is wonderful, as I don’t see them at Christmas. Never would have done this in the past, but it makes my time with them even more special.
We pulled everything from the garage and attic last week and well be installing it the next few days. No rush, no panic, no drama. Nothing new this year except for some Hallmark Star Trek ornaments. I love those things. LLAP \\//_
Mine is a nice small two part fake tree with LED lights strung on it.When I am done for the year I pick the whole thing up with one hand, bring it downstairs to a room, the lights are left on it including the lighted star. Boom, done taking it down and the same goes for the next Christmas, bring it back up and plug it in and done setting it up. Easy peazy and no muss no fuss , plus I dont even bother decorating it. Just two simple remembrance ornaments of each memorial year of the passing of my parents that hang on it.

Put your lights away properly and you don’t have to detangle them. Old Boy Scout trick. I had the badge.

The season is indeed strong this year. I have hopes that sincerity will gain strength as well.
