Just in case some readers aren’t familiar with the reference, ‘E.T., The Extraterrestrial’ is a movie released in 1982. In one pivotal scene in which kids are trying to evade capture by the evil federal authorities, the bikes they are riding become airborne.
Unfortunately, in the real world, the way some bikes get airborne is by being struck by a car. I saw a playmate tossed into the air by an automobile when I was five years old. It gave me a very great respect for the laws of physics and the traffic laws derived from them.
