Today’s strip reminds me, for some odd reason, of Saint James Infirmary in Moutain View, California. Alas, said pub is no longer with us, thanks to an arsonist who torched the place in 1998.
@Linguist Today’s strip IS funny, but a repeat Flo can’t complain that our HERO Mr Andrew Capp never takes her anywhere ,today’ museum visit is priceless :o) my avatar is a picture of a poster showing a Lady offering her legal services , after all no man ever won an argument against a woman, I neve have not , not even against our Calico queen female cat Bella . have you? come passerai il vostro Sabato mio meno vecchio amicho? our Saturday should be a little hectic but we should cope I hope , we are both in a good mood, Connie has already done the bulk shopping , but no errands to run we will just stay in the house where it’s warm and keep hydrated, keep warm and a bientot pal
Maybe they will have beer as brewed by the ancient Romans, or maybe the Egyptians. I can see Andy’s face when he tries Date-Flavored beer. (I read somewhere that the Egyptians made a generic sort of beer and the user added his own flavors to it.)
Former NFL player William ‘The Refrigerator’ Perry grew up in South Carolina. Howard Johnson restaurants were offering all-you-can-eat whole chicken meals. After a 14 year old Perry almost cleaned out a couple of them, they posted his picture in HoJos across the state with the warning to not serve him the special. I imagine brewies across England have treated Andy the same.
Two old pieces of wisdom whose writers I would credit if I weren’t so busy in these treacherous modern times. (Let’s just say they were neither Byron nor Ben Jonson.) And here we go:
I once spent an afternoon getting pleasantly sloshed sampling free glasses of various wines with the owners of a private winery in New Mexico. The upside was that all their wines were excellent … which led to a downside ( sorta ) in that I couldn’t decide which one I liked best and wound up going home with four cases of wine!

Of course Flo is paying for the admittance tickets. They’re probably £10 per person. She’ll also pay for Andy’s souvenirs from the gift shop.
