Don’t train the kid to use his superpowers to “beat up bad guys” (violence is a no-no). And no using his x-ray vision (privacy issues). Aw, heck, just use it for profit!
Might take the kid a while to learn that lesson. In the early 80s comic book reboot of Superman, Clark Kent was shown using his special abilities (not quite identified as superpowers yet) for his own benefit without regard to how it affected his teammates on his high school football team. His father ultimately had to straighten him out.
Lex Luthor never learned that lesson. In a slightly later tale, he had a super computer that sifted all the evidence and determined that Superman was Clark Kent, a conclusion Luthor immediately rejected, because he “knew” that no one with such powers would go around pretending to be an ordinary man.
Of course, nothing can top the Spider-Man classic, “With great power comes great responsibilty.” Maybe Grandpa ought to lay that one on him.
