People want to feel like they are better off than others. Bad news feeds that feeling.

Like the song said " It’s 5 O’clock somewhere " ;-)

The news, is what’s ‘new’, different, unusual. Be glad that bad things are news and good things are the usual.

I learned to stop worrying when I realized that I have no control over what happens in the world, only my reaction to it. It’s the Alfred E. Newman philosophy.

There’s plenty of good news. Just yesterday I heard in the news that the number of Covd-19 cases was going down. There has been more memorable good news as well, such as when a pilot landed his plane on the Hudson River and saved everyone on board, and I’ve heard a number of times over the years about children saving their siblings’ and even their parents’ lives.

Today seems to be a good bad news day sadly.

We need current events to have us think about ways to make the world better.

media needs people scared so they keep tuning in – it’s all ratings… follow the (advertising) money

Land a plane somewhere new and it is news. War, famine, and disease happen all the time, but who, where, why, and when keeps changing.

They forgot the other law of news, “If it bleeds it leads.”

Now that was an Armor-Piercing Response from RJ if I ever heard one.

It’s not news if it is only happening to poor people.

War, famine, and disease are bad enough…but it’s the ETC that’ll get ya…

soapbox: news should not be "entertainment"… it should be “information” (specifically, the information we need to make solid decisions for the public and oneself). “Bad news” is basically entertainment, like stopping on the highway to see a crash result and congratulate oneself on not being part of it.

i am tired of seeing the news the first thing in the morning and seeing families interviewed, crying after losing a loved one to senseless violence like this morning after a vehicle ran into a crowd of people at a Christmas event killing 5 and 40 hospitalized, the heartache and senseless loss of life is a daily crisis nationwide and we need to get a grip on it sooner than later.

There’s an adages not newspapers that if it bleeds, it leads.

It’s all about the money. Blood sells.

Dibs on the cream rinse.

War in the Ukraine, Ethiopia and the Vaucasus, famine in Madagascar, Yemen and the Congo; disease, including disease other than COVID, everywhere — but what really matters? Black Friday Playstation deals on Amazon.

My grandkids are confused by “cream rinse”. It’s a “conditioner”.
