Where is Elmo? ahh I mean “DaDad”. I can’t wait for him to return with tales from the Thanksgiving feast that he (according to another comment) must be traveling to. I believe he lives close to John Smith. Maybe Mr Smith can give us some insight as long as he can do it without being snarky which evidently I am as another reader pointed out. Maybe he’s in line for a turkey, with that many kids he’s got to need some help. I know, we can do a go fund me page for him and his brood.
We are in a difficult zone (8b). We always get frosts, but rarely hard freezes. Some plants will over-winter if it’s mild and die if it isn’t, so we never know until Spring.
The kids may have one problem that they have not thought of…..Mom & Dad are older and if it is a semi cold day to the kids, that heater is working overtime for A&J. I remember visiting my parents in their “Golden Years,” and with a central heater going and space heaters close by, the phrase of “I can’t breathe” would run through my head. Now I am the one jacking up the heat. But the great thing about the South….we have 2 seasons….Summer and Christmas Day!

Once a gardener always a gardener.

I thought they were even closer than that. Are the kids in Florida? Does that put A&J’s house up around Huntsville?

It’s about time for Gene to have his affair. It looks to me like he’s getting a little bored.

We moved from San Francisco to Vancouver Island. Winters are not so much different but summers are much warmer.

I’m sure Janis will lend some warm things.

Apparently these two don’t read the strip on the days when they don’t appear in it. The question was answered pretty definitively on Nov. 15.

Doesn’t she own a sweater? She can wear that over anything else she has on.

Always pack light. Best ever excuse to go shopping. Especially if you go international.
